Much of the supposed “evidence” of the spirit world comes from photos, normally digital cameras. The problem with this is photos claimed to be ghosts, spirits, and other supernatural phenomena are susceptible to visual deception, because of camera malfunction and mechanical faults, and because of the lenses own interpretation of objects and substances found within the natural environment, such as insects, water droplets and rain, moisture, mist and fog, the photographers breath, cigarette smoke, camera straps, skin, follicles, dust, fibres, pollen, hair, light or lens flare, the photographers own shadow, cobwebs and the list goes on.
Many amateur “Paranormal investigators” or “paranormal groups” who wish to remain believing the fantasies that support their beliefs that their photos are angels, ghost and spirits, are ignoring the obvious cause for these photo anomalies, as the fact is real paranormal investigation is often boring and uneventful, and consists of hours upon hours of nothing paranormal happening at all. In fact even in the most well known active haunted place in the would you would be lucky to witness or photograph anything genuinely supernatural on camera, or with your eyes, but people are not willing to accept this reality, and cling to the thought that their photo anomalies are ghosts and spirits, when they are in 99.9 % of cases natural things.
Another common way believers in these things try and justify them being supernatural is they say some mists and even “orbs” have faces in them, saying it must be something spiritual, but this is the human mind and imagination making familiar shapes in random patterns, like you do when you see faces in cloud formations, its known in science as Pareidolia.
All of the following photos have been taken by me with a digital camera, in simple experiments, using different substances and objects to cause certain effects that so many believe are supernatural.
Thee above is a Camera strap, often called by "Paranormal investigators" as a "Spirit Vortex"
Above a camera strap closer up to the lens where the flash could not reflect from the strap. These are often called by the uneducated "Spirit Shadows"
The photo above was taken on the Night Vision setting, this is known as a double exposure seen in both 35MM cameras and Digital cameras, caused by camera shake or movement when the shutter speed is too slow. Light caught in one position is then overlapped when the lens shot is moved to another position while the picture is being possessed on the film or data disk. The effect is commonly mistaken as a Ghost or Spirit.
Above human breath caught to close to the camera. Often believed to be spirit "Ectoplasm"
Above a light through the trees illuminated by the Night Shot function.
Above is another double exposure, but where the camera has been focused on a light source and moved rapidly, causing a streak effect, which is often believed to be "Spirit Energy"
Above are "orbs" caused by dust disturbance, or air born dust moving about on air currents. These are the most misunderstood photo anomalies, despite it being debunked countless times as nothing more than things such as dust, moisture, water, insects and fibres ect. People still want to believe these kinds of orbs are ghosts and spirits, and even angels. The common belief is that the "orb" is the first stages of a spirit manifestation, its not.
Above, the pink glare is my finger being to close to the lens.
Above. Rain being blown about by the wind. Many believe these to be "Spirit orbs" in motion. They are water droplets moving in reality.
Above more rain.
Above left, a close up rain orb, and above right a close up coloured rain orb. People often believe these are real "Orbs" because they have an outer ring, but these are of rain drops plain and simple.
Orbs on Video Camera
Another embarrassing belief by some who claim to be “paranormal investigators” is that some light anomalies on video camera, normally night shot, are "the first stages of a spirit manifestations" words chanted so often by uneducated folk who know little to nothing about how a camera works when on the night function. They argue that they cant be dust because they move around, but fail to accept that dust is so light it can move about on air current, and lets not forget bugs that can move about and can change direction at will. Countless experiments have been done with bugs moisture and dust on night shot, and the normal daytime function, and identical results were shown of that of the video that the uneducated believed were ghosts and spirits.
